A bowl of oatmeal, which scientists say can help keep your arteries dilated and blood flowing freely to your heart and the rest of Your Body.

The reason for this is: Oats are rich in phytoestrogens (a compound in some plants that mimic the human female hormone, estrogen), and beta glucan (a plant based sugar), both of which help thin layer of cells that line your blood vessels function optimally, says a study published in the Journal of the American College of Nutrition. Oats, say health experts, are particularly beneficial to people who are overweight, or suffer from glucose intolerance and insulin resistance.
